The Help Movie Analysis Essay

The Help Movie Analysis EssayThe Help movie, just like the author's book, is a good book and has lots of details about Haiti and the earthquake. It is an entertaining, though mainly educational and informational guide that you can use when you are planning a trip to the Caribbean, even if you're just here for business or pleasure. When disaster occurs, one has to learn what to do in case of emergency. After all, Haiti has only recently been affected by a natural disaster. As such, there are some things that need to be understood before you travel to this country.Human error is always the most common reason for any type of catastrophe, although in Haiti, it seems to have increased the more recent disaster has occurred. That being said, the disaster that occurred during the earthquake could not be avoided because it happened at the most unpredictable time of the year. Most people here have been building their homes and other buildings for several years. Once the earthquake hit, many peo ple were not prepared. So, how should we classify disasters? The Haitian government and most citizens will probably classify the catastrophe as a Category D disaster or higher. This indicates that the disaster is widespread, widespread damage and that more than one or two hundred lives were lost. Also, the loss is of a wide range of structures, from houses to schools, hospitals, homes, businesses, and other structures.Obviously, the best place to look for advice and information regarding a potential disaster would be your local Department of Insurance, Disaster Management (DMM) office or you may also visit the American Red Cross, which is located in Port-au-Prince. You should plan on visiting both organizations. After the earthquake, the Port-au-Prince Airport remained closed for several days due to lack of accommodation for the victims. Tourists were prevented from coming here for at least a month. The article on the website of the American Red Cross mentions that they have provided food, clothing, and shelter to more than thirty thousand people that have been displaced from their homes.During the disaster, the American Nation sent over three hundred trucks full of food, water, and clothing to help those who were displaced and at risk. In addition, several American citizens also donated thousands of dollars and offered their services to assist the Haitian government with its reconstruction efforts. The website of the American Red Cross mentions that many volunteer groups have been helping the government in their recovery efforts. Therefore, we can conclude that The Help movie, like the book that it is based on, is informative, but that the lesson is quite vague because it is still not clear who exactly caused the earthquake and the disaster. However, the country has already been established and has slowly been restoring some of the damages caused by the earthquake.
